The Democratic Cooperative Alliance is a relatively small federation active on Golden Rainbow, established in 2552.

Founded in 2552, the Democratic Cooperative Alliance was created with the intention of providing support to democratic and social democratic nations on Golden Rainbow without prejudice and with a firm commitment to equality for all. The Alliance strives to provide for its members' security needs, welfare and economic growth and stability. It will always seek compromise through the use of diplomacy before resorting to armed conflict.

[edit] Aims and Ideology

In order to accede to the Democratic Cooperative Alliance, any candidate state or empire must confirm their attachment to the principles of liberty, democracy and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and of the rule of law. They must also confirm their commitment to the equal rights of all without discrimination on any ground such as philosophy, religion, gender, race, language, sexuality, or other status.

Members of the Democratic Cooperative Alliance are determined to promote economic and social progress for their peoples. All members intend to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours. They also aim to use their combined strength to maintain international peace and security.

[edit] Governing Body

The governing body of the Democratic Cooperative Alliance is known as the Alliance Senate. The President, or Federation Chair, acts mainly as a figurehead with limited powers as an individual. He or she governs in consultation with the council of up to four additional representatives. Currently, the Senate comprises the three founder members fulfilling all roles in council with each other. The current Presidency is held by Prime Minister Zetetic Elench dam Kahveh of the Cooperative Republic of Kahveh.

The Alliance's flag is a tricolore in blue, black and red. The three bands represent liberty, equality and greater humanity. Additionally, the blue represents the sky under which all of Humanity lives, the black represents the fertility of the Earth, and the red represents cooperation between all peoples. The device in the upper hoist canton is the Pax Cultura symbolising peace through culture.

[edit] Currently Active Treaties

The Alliance's ideology and operational particulars (candidacy, senate, and rights and duties of members) are laid down in the Treaty of Roda-Theilendam. The Alliance was signed into existence by the three founding members, The Cooperative Republic of Kahveh, Quarkstream and Tiberium, in 2552 with the signing of this treaty. To date, no amendments have been made to this treaty and it is still in force. The latest copy of the treaty may be downloaded from the Alliance's website.

The Cooperative Republic of Kahveh left the United Confederation following the declaration of war with Allied Forces. The Prime Minister of Kahveh seeks out like-minded presidents to found a new federation.

The Alliance was founded by Prime Minister Zetetic Elench dam Kahveh of the Cooperative Republic of Kahveh, the Honourable Mr. Quibs Quarkston of Quarkstream and the Honourable Mr. Jim1980 of Tiberium. The Treaty of Roda-Theilendam was signed by representatives of the three founder states.

Gelderland, a new province of Tiberium, was granted accession to the Alliance.

Gelderland was granted independence from Tiberium and left the Alliance.

New Tredroy, under the Presidency of the Honourable Mr. Dvd Avins, was granted accession to the Alliance.

The Honourable Mr. Dvd Avins retires as President of New Tredroy. New Tredroy becomes a member of the Humanisternan Commonwealth under the name Bundesriket Norreland and remains a member of the Alliance.

Quibs Quarkston retires as President of Quarkstream. Quarkstream leaves the Alliance.

With only two remaining members, one of whom was inactive, the Alliance entered a period of isolationism. With the Alliance dominated by The Humanisternan Commonwealth, it began turning down applications for new members. The focus of the Commonwealth was on investing in its own military capabilities in preparation for a time when the Alliance would again seek new members.
