Creating and Army[]

To create an army you must purchase the weapon system as well as the ammo needed for the weapon. There are a couple of ways to do this. You can use the "World Trade" link on the left margin of your countries page, or you can use the Index links.

To purchase weapons using the Index links, scroll to the bottom of your Home page where the indexes are located. To purchase Defensive weapons, click on the Defensive Index link. To purchase Offensive weapons, click on the Offensive Index link. From the screen that appears, click on the "purchase weapons and ammunition" link. From there, click on the "order link" of the product you want to order.

To purchase weapons using the "World Trade" link, press the link and then press the "products in stock: buy and sell" link. This will bring you to a page that list your countries inventory of goods and weapons. From this page you can buy products or sell what you have in stock.

Offensive weapons and ammunition are identified by the green shield icon, Defensive by a red shield icon. Strategic weapons are idientified by the blue shield with a thunderbolt. To purchase a weapon or ammunition press the buy link on the right side which corresponds to what you want to purchase.

After you have pressed the order or buy button a new screen will appear. There will be fields for you to input how many you want to order, what quality to order at, and what buying strategy you want to use. The amount is entirely up to you. For new players it is advisable to ignore the Quality and Strategy sections (leave them blank). After you have entered teh amount, click on the "Place Order" button. This brings you to the "World Trade" screen where you can see what purchases you have on order.

Orders do not come through immediately unless you use the "immediate" buying strategy and that product is in supply. You will have to wait a period of time which could from one game month to many depending on the supply and the demand of the product you are purchasing. Supply and demand can range greatly from month to month and world to world.

Using the "immediate" strategy will cause you to pay a premium for the good and is only recommended for veteran players or dire circumstances.

When purchasing weapon systems you must have a number of Low Level Workers and Medium Level Managers available to serve as soldiers. The worker numbers needed range depending on the weapons system (see List of Weapons) as do the costs. You also must have enough Military bases. Each base can hold up to 20.000 weapons (and infinite ammunition). Any amount over that will automatically be placed in the reserves, and will be unusable until reactivated. Defensive Military bases hold Defensive Weapons (other than Air), Offensive Military bases hold Offensive Weapons (other than Air), Defensive Airports hold Defensive Air Weapons (Intereceptors and Helicopters), Offensive Airports hold Offensive Weapons (Fighter Planes and Precision Bombers). In order to purchase Navy Fighter Planes you must have an Aircraft Carrier.

Note: Strategic Weapons (aka Nuclear Weapons) and Plutonium are NOT avaliable on the World Market. You must build the corps and produce your own or acquire them through direct trade with other players.

Secured Mode[]

Secured Mode is a form of War Protection made available to leader countries. When activated, the country cannot be attacked, is immune to fallout, and cannot attack other players. Countries in Secured Mode may, however, attack computer controlled countries. It does not exist on Fearless Blue.

Secured mode can be turned off if the country has its entire military activated and if its combined offensive and strategic indexes are below 300. Nations in secured mode can still participate in federations, but they will not be dragged into any wars made by or on the federation. Leader countries should never be taken out of secured mode, and as a result should have as small an army as possible. Instead, countries in secured mode are often turned into an economical powerhouse that can fund their slave countries in whatever they do, whether it be war or further economical development.
